When both children and parents are empowered they are in a partnership, one that leads to collaboration and teamwork. It becomes a culture where rules and boundaries are still present and respected, but through mutual agreement rather than tyranny. This is in stark comparison to discipline, authority and do-as-I-say-because-I’m-your-parent which often leads to resentment, rebellion and great distance between parents and children in every corner of the globe.
It’s personal because we want our daughter, and every child, to live in a world that is respectful, joyful, equal and just. We actually live in the most peaceful time in history (despite what we see on the news) and less people die of famine and disease than ever before, but we need to continue to strive to be better every day and with every action.
We are so different from any other parenting program, we don’t even know if you can compare us because we bring the power back to our participants through the unique journey that makes up our curriculum. We are not prescriptive, we don’t force our beliefs down your throat but instead, we show you different perspectives and have you experience what it’s like from other people’s shoes.
